NEW REVELATIONS ON DANISH LEFT-WING POLITICIAN AND HIS RECEIPT OF SOVIET CASH TRANSFERS 1987 – 1990

Global Civil War on November 16, 2011, reported that newspaper Jyllandsposten (Denmark) on November 15, 2011, published new material on Ole Sohn, then Danish government minister but in the 1980s chairman of the Danish Communist Party (DKP).

In 2012 Jyllandsposten reports again on Sohn. He left his post as government minister in 2012, maybe knowing that more proof would surface that he received Soviet gold when chairing the Danish Communist Party.

It has on November 4 been revealed by retired Soviet official Vladimir Verchinin has seen Ole Sohn’s name in handwritten Soviet protocols, that the Danish ex-party chairman received in all over 1,5 million US dollars (nine million Danish kroner) from Moscow from 1987 to 1990.

Jyllandsposten showed a photocopy of the protocol pages on Sohn to Professor Mark Kramer of the Harvard University in Cambridge, USA, a prominent Cold War historian. Kramer has authenticated the position of Verchinin and that he had the role he claims. Kramer has also checked that the protocol is genuine and says that he is almost 100 percent sure that the document is really genuine.

Verchinin was the man who kept accounts with Moscow’s secret transfers of hard currency for the communist parties in the West, reveals that Ole Sohn (SF) as chairman of the DKP (the Communist Party) personally received millions of dollars in cash in the year 1987-90.

It is the first time that Verchinin publicly talks about the top-secret operation to transfer hard currency for promoting the cause of communism outside the Soviet Union. The CPSU party official was carrying out his task in 10-15 years until 1990.

Verchinin:

– Yes, that’s my handwriting. I got it all together with the head of the International Department. I have to admit. There was no one else in the Central Committee, which had to do with it, although some guessed to what was going on, says 83-year-old Soviet communist.

Ole Sohn was Danish trade minister until three weeks ago. He has for 20 years denied knowledge of the receipt of cash from Moscow.

– I find it very difficult to give credence to Ole Sohn explanations. His credibility in this case can hardly be less, says Danish historian Kurt Jacobsen told the newspaper.
